Getting Started
Welcome to Party Bus! We're so glad you'd like to come onboard. Before moving forward, review the Service Catalog to verify Party Bus is right for your application—in particular, the "What is Available" section.
There are five steps to the onboarding process:
- Complete an Intake Request
- Attend a Technical Fit Session
- Assess Price Quote and Complete Contract
- Attend Workshop
- Prepare for Pipeline or Package Creation
A series of Party Bus teams and team members are mentioned in this article, including the Customer Success Team, Onboarding Team, Party Bus Engineers, and Business Account Managers.
Onboarding Steps
Complete an Intake Request
- Complete our secure contact form. The Customer Success Team will then reach out to schedule an introductory meeting.
- Attend an introductory meeting, during which the Customer Success Team will:
- Gain a high-level understanding of your application
- Collect names and email addresses of your team's Technical Lead, Government Point of Contact, and Developers
- Return the following to the Customer Success Team, following your introductory meeting:
- A completed Tech Fit Intake form (download a blank version)
- An architectural diagram of your application that outlines its tech stack, containers, APIs, databases, frameworks and dependencies (view an example)
- Dockerfile(s) of your application(s), if applicable (view example Dockerfiles)
Once each of the above has been completed, Party Bus Onboarding will reach out to schedule a Technical Fit session.
Attend a Technical Fit Session
During a Technical Fit session, you'll discuss your Tech Fit Intake form and architectural diagram with Party Bus Engineers to determine whether your application is compatible with Party Bus's offerings.
Party Bus Engineers will conclude your application is one of the following:
- A good fit for Party Bus
- A potentially good fit for Party Bus after some modification (e.g. splitting out a monolithic application into separate front-end and back-end applications)
- Not a good fit for Party Bus
Assess Price Quote and Complete Contract
Once your application has passed the Technical Fit, the Customer Success Team will prepare your price quote. After receiving it, you'll have 30 days to respond. Should you accept the quote, the Customer Success Team will connect you with a Business Account Manager, who will facilitate your payment.
Your team will then be provisioned access to GitLab, Mattermost, Jira, Confluence, and various pipeline tools.
Attend Workshop
The Onboarding Team will email customers who purchased workshop seats to register for the workshop. More information about the agenda and scheduling will be provided on the first day of the workshop.
Prepare for Pipeline or Package Creation
If you are like most Party Bus customers and plan to use Deployment Pipeline Services, please follow the instructions to prepare for the creation of your pipeline.
